Canadian Provinces and Territories

Canada consists of ten provinces and three territories. Provincial and territorial governments have different responsibilities and travel conditions can vary widely across this large country.

Atlantic Canada

New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

Central Canada

Ontario and Quebec.

Prairie provinces

Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

West Coast

British Columbia.

Northern territories

Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Each future guide will cover the capital, largest communities, transport gateways, climate, major landscapes, cultural context and realistic distances. Northern guides will pay particular attention to limited road access, seasonal services and the need for advance planning.
