Midwest
Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
South
Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, DC, West Virginia, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

US territories
The five permanently inhabited territories are American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Their political status, entry arrangements and transport connections differ from those of the states, so future guides will identify those differences clearly.
Each state page will eventually include its capital, largest cities, regional airports, climate patterns, transport options, major attractions and practical planning considerations.
